If I want my designs to be automatically uploaded to some third-party online sharing service, that is a good use-case for a plugin. Plugins should address edge use-cases, which might not be interesting or financially viable for the developer to cater for. This is an app that has what are now long-standing, frustrating omissions and faults.Īn app should have all the functionality its users need 'out-of-the-box', and should not rely on extensions and plugins to provide functionality that core users may consider 'essential'. Unfortunately, IMHO, that is not the case. Add to this the fact that Sketch should be receiving a healthy injection of cash from its 'subscription-ware' business model, and you'd expect a solid, refined and feature-full application. There are now dozens of plugins adding features to the app, and integrating it with external third-party services. Sketch has become the 'de facto' tool for UI design - i.e., for producing mockups for both mobile apps, as well as websites. You can download previous versions of the Mac app (with support for older operating systems) from our updates page. A friendly reminder that we’ve changed the minimum system requirements to Big Sur (11.0) from version 84 onward. This way, you can export at high scales and blurs won‘t appear pixelated when you zoom in. When exporting blurs, we now match the scale of the export. Now, you can either choose to see all links for a prototype or only those related to the selected layer(s) from the View menu. We’ve improved the visibility of prototype links. We’ve improved shadow rendering for groups, making them faster and visible even when deeply zoomed in.Previously this was only possible with Hotspots, but we’ve opened that up for Links as well. You can now override any prototype interaction in a Symbol instance. You no longer need to select a layer first to start creating a prototype! We’ve made it easier to create prototypes. Now you can choose to either show or hide Hotspots. We’ve added an extra option for Hotspot layers to the View menu. When you grab and drag prototyping interactions on the Canvas, you’ll now only select interactions with the same destination Artboard, even if you have selected multiple layers.
